Hal McGee edited and published six issues of the publication, from 1989 to 1991. Dictaphonia Microcassette Compilation project

I am now once again, as of this date, January 31, 2009, accepting submissions for the Dictaphonia Microcassette Compilation project.

I have decided not to wait until February 1, 2010, like I had originally planned.

You can send your microcassette recording any time you want.

THE BASICS ___________________

Anyone can participate!

The emphasis of this project is experimental minimalist lo fi audio art and its spirit owes much to Fluxus and mail art.

Any and all styles are welcome.

Your recording will be collected along with submissions by several other (12-15) international contributors onto a 60-minute microcassette tape, which will be packaged inside a ziplock sandwich bag along with black and white photocopy artwork. The j-card insert for the tape will be cut out of magazines, advertisements, and other mass commercial print media - each j-card will be different.

If you have not yet contributed to Dictaphonia, now is your opportunity.

If you have already contributed to the Dictaphonia project, you may submit again, but bear in mind that the next Dictaphonia compilation, which will be Volume Number 6, will emphasize contributions by new contributors.

I will probably produce and release five 60-minute Dictaphonia compilations in 2010, and in November I will hold the second Dictaphonia Fest.
