This is my first release since 2004's "Winter in America". With few exceptions, it consists of solo and collaborative work that has been composed/improvised & recorded during the past 12 months.

I was amazed to find that I had completed 23 tracks within a year but was equally amazed that I did not record a single note during the previous five years!

For some inexplicable reason, the muse had left me cold and refused to return. Then suddenly in 2009, the muse returned and "The Mushroom Velada" appeared fully formed. Since then, the music has flowed effortlessly.

The last 12 months has been an amazing period of creativity as I have had the chance to play and collaborate with musicians from a wide spectrum of experiences & idioms. My thanks to John Asta ( who I have been playing with for over 30 years) and his son Jon, Dan Stearns, James Ross, David Beardsley, Alex Carpenter, Kaden Harris, Greg Hooper, Lee Noyes, and Benjamin Smith for their amazing talent and singular visions. This music is successful because of your creativity & sonic input.

I would also like to thank Jeff Harrington, Steve Layton, and Steve Moshier for harassing me back into musical existence. Your friendship and words of encouragement really mattered.
