Originally released in 1987, this release from Big City Orchestra featuring david hannible, robin, and das, blends and manipulates sounds across a spectrum of their own devising. The liner notes state: "creativity is common to a flame that burns within a block of ice. a flame that refuses to burn out. it will be strident. it will leave an immediate impression. it will work long and hard to create a depth of field. a depth of temperament. promising nothing, leaving no guarantees. the only constants being imagination, a sense of humor and contradiction. the question "why create" looms the same as why "I (me), why know." it will trust the experts (to a point) to make temporal valuations. it proceeds with using the small bit of time it has granted. the creator is liable to no one but to ones they know. this leads the creator down different paths than the professional who must work within the presentation and legal cultures. rent cannot be paid with portions of the soul."
