Moon Surphase is a personal variation on a theme on a subject much written about, spreading a romantic luminence, but yet without life, shining a light, but a light that is not its own. Meganini took the Dali's approach to the subject and turned it upward, backward, upside down, and inside out. The inspiration was not feed by just looking at moon pictures, but by living at night, composing at mid-night, observing the moon deep in thoughts. This easily explains some of the peculiar synthesizer overlays and recording techniques used in this project. In all, the album covers many sub-genres in electronic music, abstract, ambient, dark, ambient, dance, jingle, and electronic rock.
