There are two ways to sell items through our Homemade Music store.
Provide us inventory on consignment
You send us recordings you have produced. We handle inventory, and fulfillment of your music. We retain 20% ($1 minimum) for each item sold. We handle the shipping materials, packaging, and mailing of your product, in addition to maintaining inventory, and the pesky merchant account charges. We sell your music at whatever price you wish. If your price for a CD is $10, you get $8.00 on each sale. There are no online setup fees involved. You retain ownership and rights to your recordings. Our relationship is non-exclusive and can be terminated at any time. We started producing CD's on demand for musicians a couple years ago, methodically developing the best short run and on-demand production system available anywhere. For over 15 years, what drives us to publish GAJOOB and all the other things we do is the conviction that home studio recordings possess the same creative spark as any other recording and should demand equal consideration. Anyway, our CD's look awesome and we had so much demand for them that we started shortrunmusic.com.You make the music, design the artwork, and we'll handle the rest. You send us a CDR master (we'll create CDR masters from cassettes as well, but prefer you do it) and copy/artwork for a 2-panel, 2-sided insert (full color both sides), 1-sided tray card (full color too), and printing directly on the CD face (full color, no labels!). Our CD's are getting rave reviews from musicians! We retain a flat $4 fee to manufacture your CD's made-to-order. You keep 100% of the profit after that. We can do that because, unlike most other online retailers who provide on-demand production, we produce your CD's completely in-house. And our CD's look better too! There are no online setup fees involved. You may order your own CD's wholesale for $4. We even provide bar codes so you can sell your CD elsewhere if you wish (in fact, we encourage it). Shortrun Music is something we started because musicians really like our CD's and wanted to order more for self-distribution at shows or local shops or even other online retailers -- which is very cool.
HOW YOU GET PAID
Getting paid is important. We want you to make a lot of money so you keep making music and we keep telling people about it and selling it. We mail checks ($25 or more) written on our bank the third week of each month for all product which is sold during the previous month (for instance, checks for October sales are paid in November). Artists with balances less than $25 are carried over to the next month until the total reaches that amount. We settle and clear all accounts still under $25 in September each year. Overseas artists may arrange optional payment methods with us on an individual basis in order to avoid possibly high overseas bank charges. We are flexible and want to work with all of you, so don't hesitate to suggest options to us. We can pay by PayPal if you wish.QUESTIONS?
