SUBMIT YOUR INFORMATION

We need you to take two steps to help us sell your music at homemademusic.com.

First, we need to know a few things about you or your band or project. Then we need to know about your CD. The first step is done by completing the form at the "SUBMIT YOUR INFORMATION" link above. After you submit your information, you can submit information about as many CD's as you wish and either provide them to us to inventory here and sell on a consignment basis, OR you may provide us a master copy from which we will burn and package your CD as customers order it online. You'll find the link to submit CD information back on our main artist support page.

BACKGROUND

FYI, the rest of this page talks about where we coming from, who is listening, and how we hope to conduct business so that we can attract more listeners and build homemademusic.com into a solid outlet for special project-based music.

We've built homemademusic.com to do one thing -- sell homemade music. We've been supporting home recording artists at gajoob.com over the course of three decades. Homemade music is our passion.

We understand that home recording artists create music for various reasons, most of which have little to do with attracting large numbers of fans. Most homemademusic is made for either artistic reasons or just for fun. With that in mind, we do not charge any setup fees to artists to sell music here. We place our service's success on two things: 1) promoting home recording artists and 2) helping them sell music and encourage further creativity.

To make it possible for homemademusic.com to grow and continue providing these and other services, we see revenue from the following sources:

1- we retain a commission of 20% ($1 minimum) on each CD we sale on consignment (that's when YOU send us CD's to sell)

2- we retain a production fee of $5 for each CD we sell which we make to order (that's when you send us a master and we create the CD and packaging HERE when someone orders it).

3- we produce and package your own CD's for your own use for $4 each (that's when you ask us to make a lot of copies of your own CD for you to use). minimum order is just 4 copies.

4- we produce and market quarterly Homemade Music compilations of selected tracks from various artists whose music is being sold here. we request your permission to feature one track, royalty-free, from each CD you sell here so that we can promote your music along with homemademusic.com (you get one free copy if your music is featured).

5- we sell merchandise like t-shirts, mugs, etc.

6- we sell related merchandise like books and other items

7- we sell advertising in our quarterly Homemade Music magazine/CD.

8- we're developing other ways to sell more homemade music, such as custom-made compilations where artists can make individual tracks available for purchase.

Customers can order your music toll-free, fax, and by mail through our free printed catalog. We try to make it easy for people to get your music.

We've developed homemademusic.com primarily to help artists whose music is strictly project studio-based to find an audience who loves this music as much as we do. In addition, homemademusic.com allows artists and bands whose music might be available through traditional channels, recorded in professional recording studios or under contract to major labels, to offer their home-recorded music to their fans through homemademusic.com where we are dedicated entirely to homemade music. We believe this helps fans understand the special nature of an artist's demo or special-project music and we hope it encourages more artists to make this music available to their fans knowing that distributing it through homemademusic.com lessens the confusion that fans might have by this added dimension to an artist's catalog.

And we think homemade music is unlike any other kind of music. We believe it's important that it be heard.
